Fishing is hot pretty much everywhere right now around the Rogue Valley. It’s a great time to be able to choose what ever you would like to fish for. Here’s a quick look or Free Fishing Weekend….
Salmon & Steelhead – The entire Rogue right now is producing fish. The upper has been hot the last couple of days for both bankies and boats. Eggs are still outproducing kwik fish, but both are producing fish. The middle Rogue is still high, but there are fish around if you don’t want to make the drive up past Shady Cove. The lower Rogue has picked up again for late springers/summer salmon. There was a report of a 49lber caught recently.
Trout – Fishing is hot pretty much everywhere. I have heard of excellent fishing coming from Diamond Lake & Medco Pond. If you’ve got a favorite trout fishing spot chances are it’s fishing very well right now.
Bass & Panfish – Fishing for bass and crappie around the valley has been very good recently. I’ve been picking fish up at all the local lakes and ponds and have also heard very good reports from others. Howard Prairie has finally gotten up to 50 degrees and the smallmouth have started to come on the bite as well.
Have a great Free Fishing Weekend everyone and don’t forget to share your pictures with us on Facebook.
