I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Unlike the masses who all went shopping this morning, I decided to work off my over indulgence of turkey by hitting the river in search of some silver and steel.
The odds were definitely against me this morning. Outflows from Lost Creek are a chilly 43 degrees which has the fish lethargic, and not biting well. I also only had a couple of hours to fish before I had to head back to town for work. Despite this, I still managed to find a couple of eager biters.
|This Black Friday, upper Rogue, summer steelhead fell victim to a mini fluorescent pink XFactor Tackle egg cluster|
The morning ended with me going 1-2 with the one summer steelhead, and losing a jack silver right at the bank. There doesn’t appear to be a lot of steelhead or silvers in the upper Rogue right now. I didn’t see a single other fish hooked or on the bank the entire morning. Hopefully the bulk of the coho run will show up soon, and the summer steelhead will follow.
